The Madison County Transit (MCT) Trails are an interconnected community of multi-use trails round Madison County, Illinois. There’s at present over 130  miles of trails and the community continues to be increasing! That is actually a fantastic useful resource for this space. My buddy and I made a decision to work on strolling the entire trails! Under I’ll weblog about every of the paths!

Keep tuned because the publish will get up to date!

Bluff Path

This path begins at New Poag Highway in Edwardsville and ends 2 miles south close to the SIUE Korte Stadium. There’s a parking zone alongside Stadium Drive that’s the excellent entry level for this path. The path is asphalt and comparatively flat, however with one bigger hill. I favored this path because it was not too busy and through the fall, the bushes had been stunning! There’s additionally a historic log cabin alongside this path!

Delyte W. Morris Path

To stroll this path, we parked on the similar parking log talked about within the above publish for the Bluff Path alongside Stadium Drive in Edwardsville, Illinois. Whereas this isn’t an official MCT path, since it’s a part of the general community, we determined to test it out. The asphalt path cuts via the guts of the SIUE campus and ends at New Poag Highway. We additionally explored the SIUE Gardens which is a phenomenal space close to Tower Lake that connects to this path. In complete, our out and again stroll was about 2.75 miles.

Ronald J. Foster Heritage Path

We picked up this path on the parking zone on Mont Highway in Glen Carbon, Illinois. From right here, we hiked west to the Greenspace East Park. I had no concept this little park existed, however I actually favored it! The rolling hills are residence to native prairies and it added a pleasant loop to our stroll. We walked about three miles in complete.

This path is a complete of 12.2 miles lengthy and stretches from Foremost Road in Glen Carbon to Marine Village Park. As we stroll extra of this path, I’ll preserve this publish up to date!
