Its path system consists of a mile lengthy loop with just a few aspect spurs, bisected by the linear 0.6 mile Level Path.

Starting on the entrance, stroll via a steel gate and head north, passing a big map kiosk and interpretative panel about varied beetles discovered inside the protect.
Flip left on the first intersection to start the orange blazed Scrub Loop Path.
Trailhead kioskIn 100 ft, flip left once more to observe white blazes on a spur path heading west. This aspect path climbs over a hill earlier than descending to an open view of Johns Lake.
Returning to the orange loop in 0.3 miles, make a left onto a large hall bordered by shrubby oaks, redbay, and noticed palmettos.
Lake viewA cover of Spanish moss-laden stay oaks casts shade onto the sandy path because it traces a straight line to the northwestern nook of the loop.
