Dave Farrant Trail, Vancouver Island – besthike.com

Out of the Forest Campground at Telegraph Cove is the Dave Farrant Path to Blinkhorn Level trailhead.

1st Viewpoint

The difficult path is a labour of affection from Dave Farrant himself, who hacked out a route with chainsaw whereas hanging from a rope over the cliff.

It’s steep and rugged.

The campground asks that you just sign-in when setting off for this path. I think some inexperienced hikers have gotten in hassle previously.

I solely went so far as the “bus cease” (outhouse) which marks the scramble as much as first scenic overlook.

That was sufficient for me. I rotated somewhat than proceed to the Blinkhorn Peninsula. I’d fallen as soon as already — and as soon as was sufficient.

Wanting again, the path was enjoyable. Scrambling over fallen logs. Navigating trippy roots.

There are some large previous progress stumps to admire.
