Journey report by BestHike editor Rick McCharles

Three days, two nights within the tent.

Price is USD $220 to $330/ particular person.

I’ve lengthy needed to climb astonishing Mount Rinjani not removed from Bali, Indonesia.

I took the native boat from Gili Trawangan to Lombok island for the beginning of our guided climb of Rinjani. I might see it within the distance.

Our group met up at a neighborhood restaurant near Bangsal Port ➙ then we have been effectively (if dangerously) pushed as much as Senaru village at 400m.

We had a typical Indonesian lunch based mostly on rice or noodles.

We dropped luggage in our surprisingly attention-grabbing rooms.

Then set off to see two native waterfalls.

Loads of macaques await able to seize at your purse, backpack, or any form of plastic bag.

Right here’s the first waterfall.

MOST attention-grabbing here’s a enjoyable tire tube trip underground by way of the irrigation channel.  I’d be too hen, myself.  😀

Right here’s the 2nd much more spectacular falls.

Again on the guesthouse we did our introductory briefing on the volcano climb.  We had hoped two extra would be part of us.  One was in hospital for some cause.  The opposite cancelled final minute.

Rinjani is 3,726 metres (12,224 ft), making it the second-highest volcano in Indonesia.

We had signed up for the longer 3 days, 2 nights within the tent choice.

That turned out to be the best resolution. Our itinerary the BEST HIKE.
