Blazing the Boundaries of the Appalachian Trail

Within the rolling hills of western Massachusetts, a group of American Climbing Society volunteers really went off the crushed path to assist defend one of many nation’s most treasured trails. Working alongside the Appalachian Path Conservancy, the crew spent a number of days sustaining the Appalachian Path’s hall boundary all through the scenic Berkshires. Utilizing GPS items and compasses, volunteers navigated by way of dense forest to clear brush, repaint blazes, and exchange boundary indicators—making certain this cherished panorama stays clearly outlined and effectively cared for.

After full days within the area, evenings introduced time to calm down and join. The crew swapped tales over campfires, toasted s’mores underneath a starry sky, and celebrated with ice cream at Ben & Jerry’s.
