McKethan Lake Nature Trail, Withlacoochee State Forest – Florida Hikes

Established in 1933 as a wayside park off US 41 south of Floral Metropolis, McKethan Lake is now a recreation space inside Withlacoochee State Forest.

Residence to picnic pavilions shaded by historical stay oaks, its day use space is the best start line for a clockwise loop across the lake.

There are a number of different marked entry factors to the character path, together with a spur path connecting to it from the state forest headquarters.

Instructions

  From Interstate 75 exit 314, take SR 48 west for 1.1 mile and make a left on Hayes Rd. After 0.8 mile flip proper onto CR 476. Drive west 12 miles, crossing the Withlacoochee River in Nobleton. At US 41, flip proper and proceed north a half mile to the recreation space entrance on the left, simply previous the Withlacoochee State Forest Customer Middle. Hike
