This summer season, a crew of American Mountain climbing Society volunteers traveled to the scenic city of Newport, Oregon, to revive the Salal Hill Path. With the Pacific Ocean as their backdrop, the group spent their days widening and reshaping tread, inserting rock, and putting in geotextiles to make sure the half-mile path stays protected and gratifying for guests.
