Doing More With Less: Trail Work at Erie National Wildlife Refuge

Nestled within the hills of northwestern Pennsylvania, the Erie Nationwide Wildlife Refuge presents a uncommon glimpse into some of the biodiverse areas east of the Mississippi.

With winding trails, thriving wetlands, and a stream teeming with native fish, the refuge performs a essential position in defending the French Creek Watershed.

This June, a bunch of volunteers joined forces to assist take care of these public lands. With restricted sources accessible to keep up the refuge’s trails and infrastructure, their time and vitality made an actual distinction.

All through the week, volunteers cleared brush, posted path indicators, unfold mulch, and constructed footbridges to enhance entry and security for future guests.
