Whereas vacationing in Cape San Blas, Florida, we determined to take a drive to the north finish of the peninsula to go to T.H. Stone Memorial St. Joseph Peninsula State Park.
There may be an entrance payment to enter this park which I feel was $6 whereas we have been there.
We drove into the park and stopped at Seaside Entry #3 which had a very nice boardwalk to take guests over the sand dunes to the seashore. The seashore was very nice and we even noticed a dolphin swimming within the Gulf of Mexico!
There are two mountain climbing trails out there for every day use. We first hiked the Bayview Path which is 1.6 miles lengthy. This path follows alongside St. Joseph Bay after which circles again to the trailhead. It was fascinating seeing the several types of vegetation that develop alongside the coasts.

The next day we got here again and hiked the .5 mile Maritime Hammock Nature Path. In case you solely have time to do one path, I like to recommend this one over the Bayview Path. The path is true inside the doorway gate (be sure you nonetheless pay the payment). A boardwalk leads over a swampy space after which the path kinds a loop across the hammock. A hammock is a shady space. This path additionally had indicators marking what several types of vegetation have been that we discovered actually fascinating.

General, visiting this state park was a pleasant, brief exercise away from the home and it was fascinating to hike in sand!
